Elizabeth will share her passion and experience about this sensitive and so important topic of welcoming children and families in a multicultural and multilinguistic environment. We are used to welcome families from all around the word with an average of 15 languages in the school. How to help everyone feel welcomed and at home when coming to l’écoline? How to use language and culture to create trust relationships with and between the families.

The talk will be in English and be followed by questions/answers (in English or French according to the participants).

The presentation is led by Elizabeth Biondo, Head teacher and Pedagogista at l’écoline, working in Reggio Emilia inspired schools since 2011 in New York and Switzerland. She joined l’écoline in 2013 and participated in the Swiss Reggio Study groups in 2016, 2018 and 2021. Elizabeth recently completed the CAS: “Economics and Pedagogy of early childhood education”. In 2020, she participated in the “Creating Cultures of Thinking” training at Project Zero, Harvard. Elizabeth is an English-speaking American national and speaks french as well.
